Damn, I just found out about Bowden's retirement. What a shame. Bowden was classy, and it's sad that he was forced out. Bowden IS Florida State football, had he never headed to Tallahasse they would be nothing. FSU fans should thank him for their lives!

I think UTEP needs to be on the hot seat in this one. Mike Price was supposed to have a good season and he sure has some heat after a losing season.
Also I think Dennis Erickson is on the hot seat in the Pac-10. He shouldn't be gone this year... but he is dead if he doesn't win in 2010.

We got played by Harbaugh. Damn, I thought it might have been a done deal, turns out Harbaugh is happy at Stanford. Not surprised that he turned the job down, I blame the people reporting that we were working on a contract with Harbaugh. Oh well, Turner Gill is our new coach. Not sure what to think about it.

Turner Gil was good at Buffalo. He turned a trash program into one that made it's first bowl game ever in school history two years ago.

Turner Gill was probably what Mangino shit out after eating at Ponderosa last week... Is that a racial slur? I don't know why I'm asking

Gill made Buffalo better, but I'm not sure if he's accomplished enough to be at Kansas. I know it's tough to win in Buffalo, but he still had a losing record there. Oh well, I think this hiring should work out. Recruiting should be strong!

San Jose State just hired a coach yesterday. He should be introduced today. We ended up with the Duke Defensive coordinator. www.mercurynews.com/sports/ci_14014352Does Duke run a spread Scott? I know you saw them in person this past season. I hate the spread!!! Rumors was the 49ers RB coach Tom Rathman, but we ended up with this guy.

They might have, but I don't really remember to be honest. A Duke assistant? You guys probably would have been better off with Ed Warriner, haha
(Warriner was the offensive coordinator at Kansas under Mangino the last few years)
And Marshall hired Doc Holliday? The same guy from the old West? haha

Mike MacIntyre did win ACC assistant coach of the year honors... maybe that's why his name was attractive. There were a ton of applicants from FCS and smaller division schools as well as NFL assistants who wanted the SJSU job.

As much as I hate to say it Louisville made the best hire

Louisville probably had the best hire. I agree there. Kansas however got a good hire in Gil. His Attitude to the team will be great for the future.
I'm just happy San Jose State went out of the state and hired someone from far away just to have some kind of change. Notre Dame's hire of Kelly was good, but bigger loss for Cincy.
