I like Gill but I'm not sure if it was the best hiring any team made. There were a lot of great hirings. Notre Dame finally got it right with Brian Kelly, Louisville made a great move in getting Charlie Strong, Texas Tech found a great replacement in Tommy Tuberville (who I honestly believe is better than Leach), and the list can go on. Only hiring I questioned was Lane Kiffin at USC.

I thought Tuberville initially retired from coaching football but it is a good hire... what about the system he uses though? I know it's a bit different right?
Brian Kelly and Charlie Strong were probably the best hires. Cincinnati kind of deserves it anyway seeing they steal coaches from Central Michigan.
USC's hiring is only good because they got Monte Kiffin on defense as well as a good recruiter in Ed Orgeron. I question how well they'll be disciplined though....

I do consider it a good hire seeing Gil brought an untalented Buffalo squad in only three years to win the MAC title. His tone of "recruiting" sounds very professional and heck... based on his coaching you guys can come out of no where seeing he put Buffalo from 2-10 to 5-7 to 8-5 as well as a rebuilding team to 5-7.
