I know I'm a day late to the story, but I thought it should be posted. Obviously it's no shock that he took steroids, I just don't understand why it took him so damn long. I'm glad that McGwire came clean, unlike Bonds and Clemens. Frankly though, I think he's lying about taking them for health reasons. We know he took steroids to make himself stronger.
Roller, him being a former A's player along with that other Bash Brother steroid using jackass Jose Canseco, do you have opinions about this? And Kiger should make a video about it. Don't be lazy!

Yea the Bash Brothers were beast!!! I wasn't old enough to remember him deeply though like my parents were. I saw tape of them and saw how skinny McGwire was in 1989. I was also amazed when Canseco hit that one ball to the third deck (I saw tape on them)..... it was obvious they both were on roids... but how many people weren't? Now it's time for Barry Bonds!!!

McGwire says he still would have hit 70 homers without steroids. He must be on some other drug now. He seems like a good guy and was definitely remorseful, but thinking he would have still been that good without the roids is idiotic.
Are you a McGwire or Canseco fan Roller?

I was a McGwire fan... but he was traded when I became a true A's fan in knowing the team/players/management etc.
I remember when Scott Spezio was there and probably one of the more notable players I remember as an A's fan.

Randy Velarde had an unassisted triple play for the A's when I went to Yankee Stadium for the first time in 1999 or 2000...

I never really liked McGwire because he was with the Cardinals, but he could hit the ball. He was a solid hitter even if he never took steroids, but the roids did kind of help his stats. But I always hated Canseco, always thought he was a self-centered jackass.

No way he hits 70 homers... he probably doesn't stay healthy long enough in any season to sniff 50...
