I've known this for hours now. A friend sent me an e-mail that Mangino was going to get fired at 4 PM Central Time in a press conference, so he's been fired for the last 3 hours now.
Of course this was going to happen, because Lew doesn't like Mangino, and it annoys me. This might be good though, this season went way into the wrong direction, and coaching is the reason. I think he should have been given another year, but it is what it is. I'm thankful for what he did for our football program, but we are indeed in an era where having one bad season is unacceptable, and it costs you your job. Mangino was getting paid $2.3 million a year through 2012, looks like a $7 million buyout?
