Whale probably already saw this. I personally think this wasn't a very good move, Lee did a lot for the Phils, will Halladay be just as good in Philly? What are your thoughts, Whale? sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4742072

I grew attached to Lee so I hope he's not the one leaving, but he probably is considering they'd have to pay Lee next year after paying Halladay now. The trade really doesn't improve us. We still need Hamels to bounce back and alot of bullpen help. And you're right Scottie. Who knows if Halladay can handle the pressure like Lee did. Halladay didn't pitch really well when he was on the trade block in June/July. Lee did, and Lee pitched great in the playoffs.
What the trade does do is ensure we have an ace locked up for the next 6-7 years. By keeping Lee, we run the risk of losing him after next year. The trade also keeps Halladay away from the Mets in a fall back trade for Toronto.
Now it isn't 100% that Lee is the guy leaving. I hold out hope its JA Happ and prospects to Seattle and more prospects to Toronto. With Halladay, Lee as the 1 and 2, we'd beat very tough to beat.

Lee isn't leaving? Well I guess it's not official yet, but I don't get why the Phillies would give him up after only half a season, and he played outstanding during that half. Had the Phils had Halladay and Lee in the World Series, forget about that Yankees 27th championship! They wouldn't have had the Commissioner's trophy!

Lee has been confirmed. All depends on Roy signing and extension, and he almost certainly will. I agree with you Whale, this doesnt make the Phils any better, but it does block my Mets from making a fall back deal for Halladay. Phils couldn't allow the Mets to have Santana and Halladay locked up long term and chance losing Lee.

My wife (still sounds weird saying that), bought me a Roy Halladay jersey yesterday.
