Hey Scott how come the Chiefs have waited this long to retire #58 in his honor it should have been done 5 years ago

I think some teams wait until someone is in the hall of fame. It is like that for baseball with a few teams. Usually they wait until they are in the hall of fame.

That's probably what it is. But it was technically already retired since nobody has worn it since Thomas' death.
