The NCAA cleared Rose. I don't see why Memphis has to pay for the NCAA's screw up.
And why does that make Calipari a cheater? I won't say 100% that he had no idea, cause I have no proof that he didn't, but there's no proof that he knew either.
Every school has players that do underhanded things, the bigger the prospect the more likely the chance something like that will happen. The more likely it is to happen the more likely the player is to get caught.
When there's proof that Calipari directly pays players or helps them cheat then i'll call the guy a cheater. If there was any proof out there what-so-ever the NCAA would love to nail the guy and revel in the press clippings. However nothing has been brought against him personally, so I think everybody who continues to call him a cheater is either hating on the guy, or just doesn't like him personally.

Matter of fact, Kansas should have their season wiped out as well. (I swear i'm not just trying to hate on your team Scott)
Darrell Arthur should have never been claimed eligible, the same was Derrick Rose shouldn't have been. However, since Kansas is Kansas, the NCAA said that it was Arthur's High School's problem and Kansas couldn't do anything about it, so they were in the clear.
How hypocritical is that NCAA?!? The guy cheated in high school, the same as Rose did. If you aren't going to punish one, don't punish the other.

Arthur was cleared by the NCAA. It was only a grade change, and apparently it never happened. The teacher who claimed the grade was changed was fired anyway, so it shows just what kind of guy that jackass is. A grade change isn't nearly as serious as cheating on an SAT. Arthur didn't change the grade, but Rose did cheat. (but Arthur's grade never was changed, end of story)
I can't believe you're making an excuse about Arthur. Kansas won't be forfeiting the NCAA championship either way.

I'm sure Calipari was well aware of Marcus Camby working with agents at UMass, but did nothing to stop it. Calipari may not be the one causing the violations, but they're all taking place under his watch. I just hate how he's not doing anything about this. Always hated Calipari, might hate him more now. Little snake.

However, since Kansas is Kansas, the NCAA said that it was Arthur's High School's problem and Kansas couldn't do anything about it, so they were in the clear. Because Kansas is Kansas? Kansas has been hit HARD by the NCAA many times. For example, after KU won the 1988 title, Larry Brown gave a plane ticket to a recruit so that he could see his grandmother. The player never signed with Kansas, but we still got banned from the NCAA Tournament in '89 for that.

Then why did the school have the state championship it won while Arthur was a senior there stripped from them?
And the same was Arthur was cleared by the NCAA, so was Rose. It is the NCAA's fault, not Memphis' fault, that's why I don't think they should have anything taken away from them. I don't even care honestly, since i'm a fan of neither Kansas or Memphis. All i'm saying is fair is fair, if they're gonna punish one institution why let another get away with it. It's the same thing with the 1999 Duke Blue Devils. Corey Maggette was taking money from coaches, making him technically ineligible, but Duke didn't even get a slap on the wrist. Marcus Camby accepts money (albeit more money than Maggette, but still, accepting cash is accepting cash) and UMASS forfeits all of their wins.
If you're an old big money making school from a Power Conference you can get away with whatever you want (except Kentucky in the late 80's).

The title got stripped before Arthur was cleared. Seriously, the teacher is a jackass, he apparently knew about the grade change for well over two years, but waited until after KU won the national title to reveal it. But Arthur was cleared, the teacher has since been fired, grade change never happened, KU won the title fair and square.

Wasn't Cal's Final Four appearance with UMass rendered null too? I guess if UK wins a title in the next few years it will be taken away eventually. Enjoy the 2, 3 year high you get from it!

Yes Cal's final four with UMass was vacated as well. Imagine we would have never had a champion in the 2007-2008 season. I'm pretty sure if Michigan won against Duke and UNC in the early 90s it would have been the same thing. That means Kevin Love has never lost in college basketball postseason haha.
I'm just happy your Jayhawks did win that game and I still smile about it. I still laugh how the Tigers missed their free throws.

Kevin Love sucks!
And suns, seriously, you should be more concerned than just bashing me for "hating." I'm not hating on the Cats anyway, I'm hating on your coach.

I will hate on the coach too. Watch a problem like this happen at UK someday. You know that Kevin Love thing was a joke right? I don't care for him today since he was a one and done.

About this Memphis vacating their wins???
Memphis’ 2008 trip to the Final Four has been “vacated,” the NCAA has ruled. So it’s as if it never happened. Wipe it from your memory. The NCAA says it’s all a blank. OK!!
Let’s say the Tigers reach the national semifinals this coming season. Do you believe media reports will say it’s Memphis first trip to the Final Four since 1985?
When the Tigers reached in 2008, the stories said it was their first appearance in 23 years, but that 1985 Final Four also was vacated for rules violations, so we should have heard it was actually their first appearance since 1973.

Smell that? Jealousy in the air. How is it jealousy when Self never gets caught by the NCAA? Your coach is a snake.
