Were we racist for rooting for the USA in the Olympics? Kind of irrelevant Dinkins.

^ I wasn't exactly rooting for Michael Phelps that much. I felt he was a little too arrogant for me. I was rooting for a few Germans as well as China, Japan, Ecuador and South Korea in a few certain sports.

Who cares about diving? The actual swimming RACES are all that matters. Do you like their speedos or something?

I don't know how Phelps was arrogant. But I'd understand why, any time you win 8 gold medals, you have every right in the world to be arrogant. For me, there's only one country to root for, the USA. I would never root for Japan.

^ In most events I rooted for America but there were those few exceptions. I do root for the Americans in the Tennis Majors. Too bad Roddick was so close yet so far from beating Federer.

I think I was more amazed that the interviewers went straight to the divers right after they got out! OMG, it was amazing!!!!!! I think that sport should be mandatory in every state all year long! The Men's Diving team coming to a pool near you!!!!!!!!!

Boy that sure was bad. Poor Watson was so close, yet so far. Congrats to Cink for winning.

This was a sad moment for me. What a disappointment, he had a fairly comftorable lead but pretty much blew it. But still, he came completely out of nowhere, and I'm still proud of what he accomplished.
But in the end, like Fweak said, he was so close, yet so far.

I hate using the word "Choke" but unfortunately just like Mediate and Perry, and even Tim Clark at a small event this year, they all did that.

Don't forget Phil Mickelson at the 2006 US Open. That was one of the biggest chokes in sports history, if not the biggest!

Mediate didn't really choke. Tiger found a way to beat him.
Now Phil's was the choke of all chokes.

^ I think the Mets choking and dropping a routine fly ball this season is the biggest choke. btw.. My A's won after being down by 10 runs! watch the highlight reel if you haven't already! Twins fans stop crying!

^If the Twins lose the division or wildcard by one game.. at least they can look back at this game. I turned off my radio after it was 12-2 and then found out they caught up somehow.
